New beginnings

What in the world

October was one hell of a month. We moved to a new place, set up a new studio, went to a networking conference, launched Artasaka officially, and did a lot of work.

New place

Living in a small place has it perks, it's peaceful, everyone knows each other, there isn't much going on and life is good… is what a 50 year old grandma would say. But for me living in a small town after traveling trough most of Europe really brought up the parts of it which i hated, everyone is always observing your next move, every neighbor is gossiping about how someones son or daughter did some trivial thing, people are stuck in the very same routine and you see same people from the same school at the same job doing same thing over and over again. It almost drove me crazy.

That's why we packed up our things and moved to the big city.

New studio

A client and a friend told me once "Bigger places bring out bigger ideas"
And he was right.

New city and a new studio made me more creative than ever. Working for me never felt like a chore, but especially now with a fresh new environment i had to force myself to step away from my workstation and go do something else.

Networking conference

This one was a bust. You would think that when someone sets up a "networking" conference they would have events for actual networking. But rather it had a concert of a local musician and a few breaks between presentations, which in some cases were 45 min ads from sponsors.

But, I gotta give props where props is due, Paula Januszkiewicz ( yes I copy pasted that surname ) had a lecture on cyber-security, end even for someone who has very limited knowledge about that sector the presentation was engaging. Paula was able to get and keep audiences attention throughout the whole set.

Regardless, it was a good experience.

Launch of our legacy

Wow that title is so dramatic.

Last big thing that happened in October was launch of Artasaka, something I've been working towards to this year. I've been designing for 10+ years now. And i'm so tired of design companies stuffing clients with unnecessary meetings, daily standups, fun Fridays etc. And what the hell are story points.

Since we just launched, i'm not going to over hype it. I'll let you see with your own eyes the results in the coming months. But for now we have one simple goal, and that is to delivery high quality products fast and without BS.

That's it for now.

Stay hydrated.
